Hi mummy's, I had another growth scan today and my boy is just over 5lb at 32 weeks. He seems to have quite a big tummy on every scan picture as well and numerous midwives have confirmed that it's above average. I had the diabeties test at 26 Weeks all was ok, but my midwife said I had glucose in urine last week but I had only had a bowl of Special K. I'm just a nervous reck worrying about everything haha we can't help it tho that's natural right? So ladies just wondering what your baby's weigh/weighed around this time and if it sounds about right or not? Thankyou xxx

You could be me apart from iv got a girl lol
Growth scan Tuesday apparently she's 4lb 12oz was 32+4 at the scan and she also has a big belly on her I've got a belly on me as well but i wasn't the smallest person in the world to begin with
When the midwife measured me by hand i was coming up between 35 and 39 weeks
Had glucose in my urine (apparently a good bit) on my last appointment when i accidentally had jam on toast for breakfast but cereal does have a lot of hidden sugars as well
My GTT test at 27 came back clear
Don't panic about it i did and ended up being hooked up to an ECG when i was in for my scan because my pulse/heartbeat was so high she explained to me that it was all fine baby is a little bit on the big side but nothing at all to be worried about they don't even think she will be huge when she arrives me and DP aren't small so neither will she be
I take it they checked your water as well? they were worried my excess belly was water turns out MW kept measuring wrong and my water content is only slightly above average x

Hi. Had a growth scan at 29 weeks. Baby was 2lb 10 I was told this was a bit small BUT as long a it's following a centile line then not to worry. Will be scanned again at 33 weeks. Try not to worry. They don't seems to be very accurate about weight anyway. I know friends who have worried themselves sick about how they will get their 10 pounder out to deliver a 7-8lb baby.

Ive just had a growth scan at 32+2 and estimated weight is around 4lb 6oz. So yours isnt much more really. And they really are just estimates and can be out by quite a bit. So i wouldnt worry too much. If your midwife is worried nearer your due date they will send you for another scan.

With DD1 I had a scan at 34 weeks to check the placement of the placenta (it confirmed placenta praevia) and they estimated DD was 6lb 4oz. She was born at 37.5 weeks writhing 8lb 11oz! This means in 3.5 weeks she went up about 2.5lb

I'm 28 weeks and mine is around 1300g already, they say it's a little big already, I am diabetic but know these are just estimates

had a growth scan today 32 weeks and estimated 4lb 11oz on the large side, but then my last baby was 8.4oz at 39 weeks - I will be rescanned at 36 weeks see what they say - but was scanned at 36 weeks with my ds and estimated 9lb 3oz born 3 weeks later at 8.4 so wouldn't worry

My baby at 32 weeks was 4lb and 10 oz.
Nobody seemed concerned by it.
I've got another scan in 2 weeks (when I'm 34 weeks pregnant) so it will be interesting to see how big he is now

Thanks everyone for your replies I feel more reassured now, I guess I always thought would have a smaller baby as we are were in the family and got told it went off genetics but clearly not lol. FerretsRule - yeah the lady who scanned did say she measured the fluid around baby and it was fine xx

My baby was 3lbs at 31+5.
No one said anything to me, I didn't know until I read the scan report.
Now I am worrying that she's small or stopping growing.

I was told my bump was on the 95th centile at my 32 week scan, but my daughter was born 3 days after my due date and weighed 7lb 1oz. I think the weight estimates are pretty hit and miss. Apparently a bigger baby isn't necessarily harder to deliver or more likely to result in a tear anyway (although I didn't find that particularly reassuring when I thought I was having a whopper!)

Do remember that these growth scans aren't all that accurate on the whole. DS measured almost 8lbs at 38 weeks. He was delivered at 39 weeks weighing 6lbs 13. We'd gone into hospital with 0-3 month clothes and my parents had to rush out and buy tiny baby stuff…
I'm actually monitoring my own blood sugar because I had GD with DS, and Special K made it spike like crazy! I'm not eating it any more (which is bloody annoying because I love it!). I also had ++ of glucose in my wee at my last midwife appointment, although my blood sugar was fine must have been those 6 choc chip cookies I had with my midmorning cuppa baby is measuring fine and wriggling away.
Try not to worry…
